A lifeboat from Kilkeel has reached the yacht and is awaiting the arrival of another boat from Clogherhead. Roy Taggart of Kilkeel lifeboat said it had reached the yacht and the crew were waiting on another boat coming to help.
The lifeboats will then tow the yacht to safer waters. The rescue is being co-ordinated through Dublin Coastguard. "It's difficult for our boys in an open lifeboat. We'll be able to hopefully bring three people safely into quieter waters."
