It was the first public performance Winehouse had given since being admitted to rehab.
The five-time Grammy-award winner sang Valerie with Ronson on guitar followed by a solo performance of her song Love is Losing Game.
As Take That accepted their first award, band member Jason Orange said he had an arthritic knee and said: "We appear before you bruised and battered, but dead chuffed.
"We are so honoured. We've worked so hard over the years."
The second award, which was presented to them for the single Shine, was chosen during a live text vote which continued throughout the show.
Kylie Minogue won best British international act.
The Australian star, who also performed her new single Wow, said she was "extremely grateful and thankful".
Mika, who kicked off the show with his songs Love Today and Grace Kelly, was named best British breakthrough act.
He also performed with Gossip singer Beth Ditto.
Will Young presented the Critics' Choice award to Adele, a graduate of the BRIT School in Croydon, south London.

Accepting the prize, the Londoner said: "My heart's beating so fast." She also thanked her "beautiful" mother.
US star Kanye West, who was unable to attend the ceremony, was named winner of the best international male prize.
"I'm sure there's someone who deserves this more than me, but I just don't know who they are," he said speaking on video.
Rihanna followed with a performance of her former number one single Umbrella, accompanied by the Klaxons.
Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney performed a medley of hits, which included Live and Let Die and Hey Jude.
He was also honoured with an outstanding contribution award at the ceremony, which was hosted by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.
Doctor Who star David Tennant, actor Sir Ian McKellen, Bionic Woman actress Michelle Ryan were among the guest presenters.
