Four people have been killed and two others seriously injured in a crash near Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. Four women have been killed in a crash on a mountain road near Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, which has left two men in hospital with serious injuries.
The group of six were in the same car, a Vauxhall Corsa, and it is thought no other vehicle was involved. One of the fatalities is believed to be a teenager.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the accident happened just before 2115 GMT on the B4560 Llangynidr to Beaufort road. The group were in a Vauxhall Corsa when the accident happened at around 2130 BST on the B4560 Llangynidr to Beaufort road. No other vehicle was involved.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the condition of the injured was not life-threatening and have appealed for witnesses. It is not known if last night's icy conditions played a part in the crash. The road has been closed by police.
The two men have been taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny. Dyfed-Powys Police said the men's injuries were not life threatening.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened just outside the village of Garnlydan.
The road is likely to remain closed until at least midday.
The same stretch of road was the scene of another alert in February this year when four people were winched to safety after their car plunged 40ft (12m) down an embankment.
They are understood not to have been seriously hurt in the incident.
