Person has died in a Swansea house fire, police say
(about 1 hour later) | |
A person is believed to have died in a fire at a house in Swansea.
The blaze broke out at a home on Llangwm estate, near Penplas, in Penlan, shortly after midnight on Monday.
However, the body has not yet been found because the house is unsafe to search, South Wales Police said.
A man and woman have been taken to the city's Morriston Hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. A pet dog was also rescued.
"A third person who was at the property is believed to have died," a police spokesman said.
"Due to the unsafe condition of the house, the body has not been recovered and therefore the identity of this person has not been confirmed."
The cause of the blaze is being jointly investigated by police and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. |
