The BBC's Declan McConaghy, who is stuck in traffic on the road, said motorists could expect long delays. The Roads Service is working to clear drains along the road to allow the water to flow away.
BBC reporter Conor MaCauley, who was stuck in traffic on the road, said motorists could expect long delays.
"There is still a lot of water on the Belfast-bound carriageway which is slowing down traffic," he said.
"Earlier, vehicles which became stuck in floodwater had to be towed out.
"Motorists have criticised the time it took the authorities to turn up and there are still long delays on the A1 Belfast bound."
