Cave rescue services and police were called at 1545 GMT to help students trapped in Dow Cave near Kettlewell. They were brought safely to the surface in a three-hour operation at Dow Cave near Kettlewell.
North Yorkshire Police say the leaders of the group swam from the cave, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and raised the alarm at a village store. The cavers, aged 16 to 19, became trapped at 1545 GMT and were aided by cave rescue services and police.
