House blaze family escape injury Woman is targeted in arson attack

A woman and her three teenage children have escaped injury after a fire broke out in the living room of a house in south Belfast. A woman has escaped injury after an arson attack at a house in north Belfast.
The ground floor of the property at Florenceville Drive was extensively damaged. The property at Cliftonville Avenue was slightly damaged after a fire was started in the hallway.
In a separate incident in north Belfast, a house at Cliftonville Avenue was slightly damaged after arsonists started a fire in the hallway. Meanwhile, a woman and her three teenage children escaped injury after a fire at a house in south Belfast.
A woman living there was not hurt, according to the police. The ground floor of the property at Florenceville Drive was badly damaged.The Fire and Rescue Service said the family had a lucky escape.
Fire officer Alan Walmsley said: "They obviously had an escape plan in place and they were able to escape via a first floor window onto a flat roof and onto safety."
He said fire crews extinguished the blaze, which broke out in the living room of the property.
