Stab victim's condition improves Pair held after trouble in city

A man stabbed in Belfast's Markets area in the early hours of Friday morning is now said to be in a serious condition. Two men have been arrested in connection with trouble in the Market's area of Belfast.
His condition has been downgraded from critical overnight at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Two people were stabbed during the disturbances early on Friday, which, at one stage, involved up to 30 people.
Another man stabbed in disturbances in the area, which at one stage involved up to 30 people, remains in a stable condition. One man was critically injured but his condition improved overnight and he is said to be seriously ill in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Detectives investigating the early morning trouble carried out searches at the scene. Another man who was stabbed remains in a stable condition in hospital. Police have carried out searches at the scene.
