An 84-year-old man is in hospital with a serious head injury after being assaulted with a hammer in County Armagh. An 84-year-old man is recovering after he was beaten with a hammer at a petrol station in County Armagh.
Just before 2000 BST, a man with a hammer went into a service station on Main Street in Waringstown and caused extensive damage. He suffered serious head injuries after he was attacked at a garage at Main Street, Waringstown, on Monday night.
He then went to the forecourt and damaged several cars before assaulting the pensioner. Police said a man with a hammer smashed up the shop, then went outside and damaged several cars in the forecourt before attacking the pensioner.
