The body of an elderly woman has been found following a fire at a care home. The body of an elderly woman was found by firefighters tacking a blaze which had broken out at a care home.
The fire broke out at Glyn Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, just before 20:30 BST on Tuesday. The fire started in a ground floor flat at Glyn Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, just before 20:30 BST on Tuesday.
Following a search, Mid and West Wales Fire service discovered the woman who had lived at the home. Twenty seven residents, some who were confined to bed or disabled, were evacuated to safety. Many of them have since returned to the home.

Two elderly people have been temporarily relocated to another care complex. Arwel James, fire station manager in Aberystwyth, said: "When we arrived there was a well developed fire in a ground floor flat, with the fire coming out of one of the windows of the property."
The dead woman's family has been told. The crews went in wearing breathing apparatus and put the fire out.
"Unfortunately we located a body of one of the residents within the flat," he said.
Mr James said the fire did not spread to other parts of the building, but due to its "ferocity" smoke had filled hallways in other parts of the complex and remaining residents had to be temporarily evacuated.
