(about 2 hours later)
A man has died after a fire at a seafront hotel in Lancashire. A man has died and 60 people have been taken to safety during a fire at a seafront hotel in Blackpool.
Firefighters are still searching for up to six more people at the Waverley Hotel on Blackpool's central promenade. Twelve fire engines were called at about 0330 BST to The Manor Hotel, on Central Promenade.
Fire crews were called at about 0330 BST to the four-storey building, where the fire is burning in the basement, ground and first floors. The fire in the four-storey building took hold in the basement, ground and first floors before spreading to the neighbouring Waverley Hotel.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue said several other hotels have been evacuated and fire investigators are at the scene to try to establish the fire's cause. A man was rescued from a hotel bedroom and treated for cardiac arrest on the way to hospital but died later.
Four other casualties were treated for minor casualties at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Promenade closed
All people have now been accounted for and search and rescue crews are not looking for anyone else.
The two hotels were evacuated and 60 people have been taken to a nearby leisure centre.
A section of the promenade between the junction of Lytham Road and Chapel Street has been closed, and the tram service along the promenade has also been shut.
Fire crews remained at scene on Monday but a spokesperson said the fire was under control.
It is not yet clear how the fire started but fire investigators were also at the scene.
