Renewed snow warning for Scotland Snow causes 'hazardous' conditions in parts of Scotland

A renewed warning of snow has been issued, with many parts of Scotland facing fresh falls. Police are warning of hazardous driving conditions in some parts of Scotland.
More than 100 schools were shut earlier in the week and the Met Office has warned of further problems in store. Heavy snow has affected many areas of Dumfries and Galloway with high winds causing drifting in places. Grampian Police have also warned about drifting snow.
An initial warning, starting on Thursday night, covers eastern parts of Scotland but extends to cover southern regions on Friday and Saturday. Some of the worst conditions are in Galloway, particularly the Stewartry.
The Met Office has put out a renewed warning of snow for eastern and south west Scotland which lasts until Saturday.
In Dumfries and Galloway some lorries are stuck on the A75 near Glenluce and there are two HGVs stranded at Longwood on the A711 Dumfries to Dalbeattie Road. Police said all roads were passable with care.
