Mrs Ankers said she had already searched many of those areas for him.
"Everybody does love John," she said.
"Nobody would say a bad word against him.
"We were meant to be going to look at a cafe today for him to see if he could take it over, and we were meant to be going on one of those ghost hunts on Saturday in York.
"He was saying that things were looking up a bit since losing his job, so there is nothing really for him to do that (disappear)."
