Zapcat power boats have been racing around a course on the Clyde
The crowds are also being treated to the spectacular "Zapcat" power boat racing.
Other events will include rowing, live music and a fleet of boats on display, from yachts to Clyde puffers.
Steven Purcell, leader of Glasgow City Council, said: "The Glasgow River Festival is not only a fantastic day out.
"It also serves to highlight that the River Clyde is returning to its rightful place at the very heart of the city's creative and entrepreneurial endeavours."
