An elderly couple have been found dead in their garden in a Cardiff suburb next to an electric lawnmower still connected to the mains. | |
The couple, both aged 87, were discovered in the garden of the property in the Cyncoed area. | |
The Welsh Ambulance Service said the power was still switched on the lawnmower when they arrived at the property in Bettws-y-Coed Road. | |
However police could not confirm reports the couple were electrocuted. | |
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We are investigating on behalf ofthe coroner the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly couple atBettws-Y-Coed Road. | |
"The deaths are not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination is being carried out shortly." | |
Local people said the couple had lived in the bungalow for more than 20 years and were not in the best of health. | |
The man was often seen out walking the dog since he retired. | |
They were described as a kind and helpful couple and with family believed to be in Newport and Chepstow. |
