"We are still in the very early stages of an investigation but we are doing everything we can to establish how and why this death has happened. "She was completing the first year of a foundation course studying at Hull College with a view to continuing on to a three-year degree course in marine biology at Hull University.
"I appeal to anyone who might have information relevant to the investigation to contact the major incident room urgently." "A post-mortem has been conducted which revealed that Rebecca had been assaulted."
Detectives are investigating Miss Love's movements before to her death.
They have established that she was at an HSBC cash machine on the corner of Hallgate and King Street in Cottingham on Tuesday evening at 1941 BST.

"It is evident that Rebecca had been assaulted and for that reason we have launched a murder investigation."
