A police investigation has started after the body of a student was found in Hull University's halls of residence at Cottingham, East Yorkshire. Police are treating as suspicious the death of a student whose body was found in Hull University's halls of residence at Cottingham, East Yorkshire.

Detectives are carrying out inquiries at the campus and police have spoken to the woman's parents. Post-mortem tests have taken place and police are waiting for the results.
Det Ch Insp Tony Garton, who is leading the inquiry, said: "A young woman has lost her life in suspicious circumstances.
"We are still in the very early stages of an investigation but we are doing everything we can to establish how and why this death has happened.
"I appeal to anyone who might have information relevant to the investigation to contact the major incident room urgently."
