The 16-year-old boy appeared before Manchester magistrates accused of shooting Kamilah Peniston in the head at Wembley Road, Gorton, Manchester. The boy appeared before Manchester Youth Court accused of shooting Kamilah Peniston at Wembley Road, Gorton, Manchester on Monday.

The boy spoke only to confirm his personal details and made no reaction as details of the charges were read out.
District Judge Paul Richardson put in place a Section 39 Order protecting the identity of the teenager.
He referred the case to Manchester Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on 10 May.
