Labour MP for Bradford West, Marsha Singh, said he had spoken to Hamza's cousin, Salim Malik, about the shooting.
"The family are obviously traumatised and shocked", he said.
"Any murder is a tragedy but when a young child is involved, the feelings are even stronger."
Mr Singh said he planned to write to Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett to ensure the British High Commission gave "all the necessary support" to the family and liaised closely with the Pakistani authorities.
Hamza's mother, Nighat, and his father, Nisar Ahmed, of Upper Woodland Road, Girlington, are still in Pakistan where the funeral has taken place.
