A child has died in a fire at a house which broke out in Wellingborough, Northants, in the early hours. A fire at a family home in which a three-year-old boy died in the early hours is being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Scenes of crime officers and forensic investigators are currently at the scene to try to find out the cause of the fire. When fire crews arrived, the fire had almost destroyed the maisonette. It is understood the child's body is still in the house while it is made safe.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman confirmed the fire was being treated as suspicious and an investigation would be carried out.
Forensic searches of the home are continuing and a post-mortem examination will be carried out on the boy.
