Third arrest over Aberdeen murder Two in court over Aberdeen death

A 17-year-old woman has become the third person arrested after the death of a father-of-two in Aberdeen. A teenage girl and 40-year-old man have appeared in court charged with the murder of a father in Aberdeen.
The teenager, from the Norfolk area, was arrested in England in connection with the alleged murder of Robert Mair, 57, whose body was found two weeks ago. The body of Robert Mair, 57, was found two weeks ago at his Northfield home.
A 32-year-old man from Ayrshire appeared in court on Monday in connection with the case. Jane McBurnie, 17, of Thetford, Norfolk, and Derek Carswell, of Dreghorn, Ayrshire, made no plea and were remanded in custody.
A second Ayrshire man, aged 40, was then arrested in England in connection with the death. On Monday, Stephen Rankin, 32, of Darvel, Ayrshire, also appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court accused of murder. He was also remanded.

The court appearance on Monday saw Stephen Rankin, of Darvel, appear in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court accused of murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Reports will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Aberdeen in connection with the 17 and 40-year-olds.
