A 32-year-old Ayrshire man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Aberdeen. A 17-year-old woman has become the third person arrested after the death of a father-of-two in Aberdeen.
The body of 57-year-old Robert Mair was found at his home in the city's Northfield area almost two weeks ago. The teenager, from the Norfolk area, was arrested in England in connection with the alleged murder of Robert Mair, 57, whose body was found two weeks ago.
Stephen Rankin, of Darvel, Ayrshire, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court accused of murder. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. A 32-year-old man from Ayrshire appeared in court on Monday in connection with the case.
Later, police said a second Ayrshire man, aged 40, had been arrested in England in connection with the death. A second Ayrshire man, aged 40, was then arrested in England in connection with the death.
A spokesman for the Grampian force said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Aberdeen. Accused remanded
