Post mortems due on flat bodies Photo mix-up man man found dead
(about 2 hours later)
Post mortem examinations are due to take place later on the bodies of two men found in a flat at Pwllheli in Gwynedd. A man wrongly identified as a suspect in the inquiry into five prostitute murders in Ipswich has been found dead with another man at his Gwynedd home.
The men have been named in the Daily Post newspaper as 48-year-old Gareth Huw Roberts and his friend Ian Stedham. The bodies of Gareth Huw Roberts, 48, and Ian Stedham, 43, were discovered at a flat in Pwllheli on Tuesday.
The bodies were both discovered on Tuesday morning at the maisonette close to the seafront in Pwllheli's West End. Police said the deaths were being treated as "unexplained", but not as suspicious at this stage.
Police have not said the deaths are suspicious but are treating them as unexplained. Mr Roberts was mistakenly identified in the Daily Mail as Steve Wright, who has been charged with murdering the women.
Forensic scientists spent Tuesday at the flat carrying out a detailed examination but police have not said how the pair died. The error arose because the men were former stewards on the QE2 and they were both pictured in the photograph.
Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rogers is due to carry out post mortem examinations on the bodies at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd at Bodelwyddan later on Wednesday morning, which should provide more details. The newspaper offered a formal apology to Mr Roberts and agreed to pay compensation.

Police have not formally identifed the men, who have been named in the Daily Post newspaper.
