(about 16 hours later)
The deaths of two men whose bodies were found in a maisonette are being treated as unexplained by North Wales Police. Post mortem examinations are due to take place later on the bodies of two men found in a flat at Pwllheli in Gwynedd.
They were discovered at Y Ddol in the West End area of Pwllheli, Gwynedd, on Tuesday morning. The men have been named in the Daily Post newspaper as 48-year-old Gareth Huw Roberts and his friend Ian Stedham.
Scenes of crime officers spent the day examining the maisonette. The bodies were both discovered on Tuesday morning at the maisonette close to the seafront in Pwllheli's West End.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rogers at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan on Wednesday morning. Police have not said the deaths are suspicious but are treating them as unexplained.
The coroner has also been informed. Forensic scientists spent Tuesday at the flat carrying out a detailed examination but police have not said how the pair died.
Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rogers is due to carry out post mortem examinations on the bodies at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd at Bodelwyddan later on Wednesday morning, which should provide more details.

Pwllheli's mayor, Alan Williams, who is also the county councillor for the West End area, said the deaths had been a shock to people.
"This is indeed a dreadful incident," Mr Williams said.
"My condolences go towards their families and those near and dear to them.

A third man is understood to have lived in the flat where the bodies were discovered, but recently moved out.
