Baroness Thatcher is doing well in hospital after breaking her arm, her son Sir Mark Thatcher has said. Baroness Thatcher is to undergo routine surgery on Friday which means she will remain in hospital, where she has been since breaking her arm last Friday.
She will undergo the procedure to insert a pin in order to assist the healing process.

Speaking outside the hospital, Sir Mark said there would be announcement later about when she would be discharged. Her son Sir Mark Thatcher had earlier said she was "doing well".
