A murder inquiry has been been launched after the body of a man was found in an Aberdeen street. A murder inquiry has been been launched after the body of a man, believed to be in his mid-50s, was found in an Aberdeen city centre street.

He urged anyone who witnessed a fight or anything suspicious to contact his officers. He appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police.
Roads are closed in the Bon Accord Street and Oldmill Road areas until further notice while the investigation continues. Det Ch Insp Cooper said: "I am making a direct appeal to anyone who was in Aberdeen City Centre, particularly if you were in the general area of Oldmill Road, Bon Accord Street, sometime between midnight and 4am, this morning."

The victim was wearing a light coloured bomber style jacket.
