A huge explosion has killed at least five people in the Pakistani city of Lahore, police say. A powerful car bomb outside the main police station in the Pakistani city of Lahore has killed at least seven people and injured 100, police say.
The blast, which took place near the city's main police station on the Mall Road, could be heard three to four miles away, an eyewitness said. The blast on the Mall Road destroyed a police emergency response building and TV stations are showing a collapsed building and gutted vehicles.
Pakistani television channel Dawn News showed pictures of a collapsed building and dozens of gutted cars. A car driven by a suspected suicide bomber smashed through a barrier and exploded, officials said.
Officials said at least 15 people were wounded. Rescue teams and ambulances have rushed to the area. Lahore, Pakistan's second-largest city, saw several bomb attacks recently.
Police commandos were seen arresting a man after the explosion.
