Two killed in head-on car crash Police name fatal crash victim

Two people have died and a third was seriously injured after a head-on collision between two cars in Ayrshire. Police have released the name of a woman who, along with a teenager, was killed in a head-on crash in Ayrshire on Saturday.
Three people were trapped in their vehicles after a teenager apparently lost control of a Ford Focus on the A76 near Cumnock shortly after midday. Margaret Walsh, 50, from Troon, was a passenger in a Peugeot 207 involved in the accident on the A76 near Cumnock.
The 18-year-old and the 50-year-old female passenger of a Peugeot 207 died at the scene. Strathclyde Police said the 18-year-old driver of the other car, a Ford Focus, lost control of the vehicle.
The 49-year-old male driver of the Peugeot suffered serious chest injures and was taken to Ayr General Hospital. The 49-year-old male driver of the Peugeot is being treated for serious chest injures at Ayr General Hospital.
Pc Gary Easton, who is carrying out an investigation, urged any witnesses to contact him.
A report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal.
