Windsurfing board found in search Search resumes for missing surfer

A search is to resume for a missing windsurfer in East Lothian. Fifty lifeboat and coastguard crews are searching for a windsurfer missing off the east coast.

The initial air and sea search off Thorntonloch, five miles from Dunbar, recovered a board matching the description of the one he was using. The search was called off after his board was found and was resumed again at first light.
Forth Coastguard said the windsurfer was wearing a wetsuit and said the water temperature was 8C. He was last seen windsurfing between Thortonloch and Cove near the Torness power station.

Eyemouth RNLI all weather lifeboat is searching four miles off Torness while Dunbar all weather lifeboat is searching 10 miles north east of the power station.
Inshore RNLI lifeboats from Dunbar and St Abbs are conducting shoreline searches, with St Abbs lifeboat focusing between Fast Castle Head and Torness.
The inshore RNLI lifeboats were stood down about 2200 BST on Tuesday, while the all weather lifeboats continued for about three and a half more hours. They then all resumed at first light.
