Rescuers searching for a missing windsurfer in East Lothian have found a board matching the description of the one he was using. A search is to resume for a missing windsurfer in East Lothian.
Forth Coastguard launched an air and sea search off Thorntonloch, five miles from Dunbar, at about 1800 BST after the alarm was raised by a friend. The man, who is in his 30s and from Berwickshire, was last seen at about 1600 BST on Tuesday and the alarm was raised by a friend two hours later.
The missing man is said to be in his 30s and from Berwickshire. The initial air and sea search off Thorntonloch, five miles from Dunbar, recovered a board matching the description of the one he was using.
The search for the windsurfer was called off just before midnight on Tuesday, Forth Coastguard said. Forth Coastguard said the windsurfer was wearing a wetsuit and said the water temperature was 8C.
An RAF helicopter, two coastguard boats and three RNLI lifeboats were involved in the search.
