The M4 motorway between Newport and Cardiff has reopened almost five hours after a collision between a car and a lorry closed both carriageways. Police have released pictures of the M4 following a crash which caused six-mile tailbacks in south Wales on Tuesday.
Tailbacks of up to six miles formed following the collision between J29 Castleton and J30 where the motorway meets the A48M. The aerial shots, as well as one at ground level, show how debris from an overturned lorry closed both carriageways for almost five hours.
Both the male lorry driver and female car driver were taken to hospital in Cardiff after the crash at 1410 GMT. The collision at 1410 GMT between a car and a lorry was between junction 29 at Castleton and junction 30, between Newport and Cardiff.
