The later accident involved a MG SX car, a blue Hyundai car, a blue Mercedes CL and a silver Peugeot 206.
One man, from Ely, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, with serious injuries. He is presently in a stable condition.
At this stage police cannot say which vehicle the man was in but said the two accidents were related.
