The police posts targeted were in different districts of the city. The US military said the blasts took place shortly before noon (0900 GMT).
Security forces have imposed a curfew in both areas, reports say. The bombers attacked police centres in the western neighbourhood of Golan and the eastern area of Shurta within minutes of each other, a security official told the AFP news agency.

The explosions happened outside concrete barriers protecting the two police posts, reports say.
Another report said that one of the two police positions had been levelled by the explosions, which the US military said took place shortly before noon (0900 GMT). A senior police officer told the Associated Press that one of the police posts had been levelled and several nearby houses badly damaged.
