The rape of a 14-year-old girl in Burnley on New Year's Day is being investigated by police. Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they are searching for after a 14-year-old girl was raped on New Year's Day.

Lancashire Police said the attacker - who was not known to the victim - was described as being in his 30s or 40s with curly hair, tanned skin and a beard. Police have urged anyone who recognises the suspect to contact them.
The teenager is being supported by specially trained police officers. Det Insp Tim McDermott said the girl was being supported by specially trained officers.
He added: "I understand this is an extremely concerning incident. If you recognise the pictured man or have any information that could help our investigation, please get in touch as soon as possible."
