Flooding follows heavy rainfall Woman rescued as flooding strikes

Properties in mid and south west Wales have hit by flooding after heavy rain. A stranded woman has been rescued from a car in floodwater and properties in mid and west Wales have been pumped out by fire crews after heavy rain.
Firefighters were called out to Powys and Carmarthenshire, and the Dyfi bridge at Machynlleth was closed. The woman was brought to safety by firefighters at Troedyrhiw, near Newton, Powys, shortly before 0700 BST.

Forecasters predicted as much as 70mm (3in) of rain for parts of Wales.
