Flood warnings issued for Wales Flooding follows heavy rainfall

Flood warnings are in place for parts of Wales after heavy overnight rain. Properties in mid and south west Wales have hit by flooding after heavy rain.
The warnings were issued for Llanrwst and Trefriw in the Conwy Valley, the Dyfi Valley and Machynlleth, and there are also 12 flood watches. Firefighters were called out to Powys and Carmarthenshire, and the Dyfi bridge at Machynlleth was closed.
As forecasters predicted as much as 70mm (3in) of rain, there was some flooding in mid and south west Wales. Two flood warnings have been issued for Llanrwst and Trefriw in the Conwy Valley, Dyfi Valley and Machynlleth, and there are also 12 flood watches.
In Camarthenshire the Llwyndafydd Arms at Saron, Llandyssul, was affected, as was Burry Port. Properties were also pumped out near Newton, Powys. Forecasters predicted as much as 70mm (3in) of rain for parts of Wales, as well as in other areas of central and southern Britain.
Fire crews were called out to pump floodwater from the basement of the Llwyndafydd Arms, while the Powys areas affected were Bettws Cedewain, Garthmyl and Sarn. In Carmarthenshire, fire crews were called out to pump floodwater from the basement of the Llwyndafydd Arms at Saron, Llandyssul. There was also some flooding in Burry Port.
Mid and West Wales Fire Service also dealt with calls to properties in Welshpool, Newtown, Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomery, Machynlleth.
Dyfed-Powys Police said diversions were put in place after the Dyfi bridge was closed.
