A man walking along the A465 at Neath was killed in a collision during the early hours of Saturday. A teenager who was killed on a main road in Neath in a collision during the early hours of Saturday has been named.
Police had appealed for information about his identity following the crash and issued a description of him. Ben James Evans, from the Sandfields area of Port Talbot, was walking along the A465 when there was a collision with a Nissan Navara.
He was described as being aged between 17 and 23 with ginger hair, a lip piercing and a tattoo. Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen the accident - or saw Ben who was in Neath town centre on Friday night - to come forward.
Officers from South Wales Police said following their appeal for help, they were able to identify the man but have released no further details. Officers say they do not know why Ben was on the A465 at the time.
The man was killed in the one vehicle collision at about 0030 BST. South Wales Police say he was killed at about 0030 BST.
Inspector Carwyn Evans, of the South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit, said: "We know Ben was out in the Neath town centre area on Friday and we want to speak to anyone who was with him on this evening.
"At this stage we do not know why Ben was on the A465 so we need to piece together his movements on Friday night until the time of the incident."
