Eight people injured in A75 crash Two cut free from A75 collision

Eight people have been injured in a serious road crash on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway. Two elderly people who were cut free from a car after a head-on collision on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway are said to be "very ill".
The accident involving a car and a people carrier took place near Gretna at about 1440 BST. The crash involving a silver Rover 25 car and a silver Toyota Previa people carrier took place about half a mile west of Gretna at about 1425 BST.
Two elderly people had to be cut free from their vehicle and have been taken by air ambulance to Dumfries Infirmary. Police said two elderly occupants of the Rover were airlifted to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Six people who were travelling in the people carrier were also injured and have been taken by road to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. Seven people in the Toyota were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
