A major search operation has been launched after a small fishing boat overturned off the coast of Fife, Forth Coastguard has confirmed. A missing fisherman has been found alive after his boat capsized off the coast of Fife, a lifeboat spokesman has confirmed.

RAF spokesman Flt Sgt Tim Dickinson said the weather at the scene was poor, but added that the Sea King helicopter being used in the search was equipped with the latest infra-red technology to pick up heat sources in the water. A spokesman for the Kinghorn RNLI lifeboat said: "The missing casualty from the vessel which sunk earlier off Methil has been located."
A lifeboat was taking the man to dry land, where he was to be airlifted to hospital.
