A 19-year-old man has died and another man has been seriously injured in a fire at a flat in Edinburgh. A teenager has died and another has been seriously injured in a fire at a flat in Edinburgh.

Fire and rescue officers broke down the door of the burning flat and entered using breathing apparatus. After breaking down the door of the burning flat they pulled out the two 19-year-old men inside.
They pulled the two men out and gave first aid at the scene, but ambulance crews confirmed the death of the teenager on their arrival. One of the teenagers was confirmed dead by paramedics a short time later. The fire is thought to have started in a chip pan.
A couple in the flat above raised the alarm. The woman was led to safety while the man was rescued by ladder. The alarm was raised by a couple in the flat above, who were also rescued by fire crews.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is under way. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
