Translink said it condemned the incident and that staff and passenger safety was a priority. Translink's Linda Shannon said that staff and passenger safety was of "paramount importance".
The company said that it would work with police in trying to catch the attacker. "We thoroughly condemn this act of mindless act of anti-social behaviour, thankfully the driver has not been hurt but he has been very shaken by the incident," she said.
