Flat body murder inquiry launched | |

Police in Cardiff have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body at a block of flats in Roath, Cardiff. | |
Philip Bannan, who was 58, was found dead by officers at 0900 GMT on Saturday in Helen Place at the flat where he is believed to have lived. | |
Officers gained entry to the flat after receiving information from a member of the public. | |
Scenes of crime officers are carrying out a forensic examination at the flat. | |
An incident room has been set up and the results of a Home Office post mortem examination are awaited. | |
Det Supt Paul Kemp, who is leading the murder inquiry, said police were appealing for anyone with information to come forward. | |
"In particular, we would like to speak with anyone who may have seen Philip between 8.00pm on Thursday (November 2) and 9.00am yesterday morning," Det Supt Kemp said. | |
"Anyone who may live nearby or who may have just been passing through the area may have noticed something suspicious or unusual. | |
"Regardless of how insignificant it may seem, the information they have may hold the key to our investigation. | |
