Eight people were inside a detached cottage when a gas explosion occurred in a downstairs living room. Two children are among four people who have been taken to hospital following a gas explosion in the living room of a detached cottage.
Three girls were taken to hospital suffering burns and broken bones following the incident in Ayr Road, Glespin, at 1425 GMT on Saturday. A 24-year-old woman, two girls aged six and nine, and a 17-year-old boy are being treated at Wishaw General Hospital for leg injuries and burns.
The five other people were checked over at the scene. Eight people, including a heating engineer, were inside at the time of the blast at 1435 GMT on Saturday.
