Version 0 of 1.

A car has crashed into a display conservatory at a garden centre, narrowly missing a member of staff.

Police said the 83-year-old driver pressed the accelerator instead of his brake pedal at Roden Nurseries in Telford, Shropshire.

The worker, who did not wish to be named, said he was sitting in the sales room area when the car ploughed into the showroom just feet away from him.

The driver and his passenger were shaken but uninjured.

The building, belonging to double glazing firm C-Thru, was completely destroyed in the crash at about 13:00 BST.

"I was in the sales room and then suddenly heard this almighty bang and saw the car next to me," the member of staff said.

"It certainly woke me up."
