France: Woman Abducted in Yemen Has Been Freed
Version 0 of 1. A Frenchwoman who was abducted in Yemen in February has been freed, the French president’s office said early Friday. “Our compatriot Isabelle Prime has been freed tonight,” its statement said, without providing details on her release. Ms. Prime and her Yemeni translator, Shereen Makawi, were abducted in the capital, Sana. Ms. Makawi was later freed. In June, France authenticated a video that showed Ms. Prime, a consultant for Yemen’s Social Fund for Development, saying, “Please bring me to France fast because I’m really, really tired” and saying she had tried to kill herself several times. |
