Three men arrested during an incident at a building society in Kent in which a man was shot dead by Metropolitan Police officers have been charged. | |
The men are each charged with robbery at the Nationwide Building Society in New Romney and possessing a firearm. | |
David Jenkins, 60, from Ashford, Dean Jenkins, 39, of Rainham and Ben Greham, 21, of Upper Norwood, south-east London, are due before magistrates. | |
Robert Haines, 41, died after the shooting in New Romney on Tuesday. | |
Mr Haines, from Challock, near Ashford, was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, where he was later pronounced dead. | |
It later emerged Mr Haines had been shot by a firearms officer involved in the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, who was mistaken for a suicide bomber at Stockwell Tube station in July 2005. | |
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has launched an inquiry into Mr Haines' shooting. |
