A man has been sent for trial after being charged with the rape and murder of a Belfast woman.

Kristoff Alauya, 24, from Nigeria but with an address in County Carlow, is also accused of stealing jewellery and other items from Grace Moore.

Ms Moore, 38, was found dead in her flat at Erris Grove in the city's Suffolk area in November 2006.

Mr Alauya told a magistrate he did not want to say anything in relation to the alleged offences.

He was remanded in custody to be returned to Belfast Crown Court at a later date.

Ms Moore was seen leaving a nightclub at Howard Street in Belfast city centre at 0200 GMT on 18 November with a female friend and four men.

She was seen last getting into a car at the junction of Upper Queen Street and Howard Street a short time later.
