Mitt Romney hosts political sleepover for Chris Christie and Marco Rubio

New Jersey governor Chris Christie and Florida senator Marco Rubio will both be staying over at the Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, property of the 2012 Republican nominee. Christie, who declared his candidacy this week, said he was grateful for the invitation and suspected some politics will be discussed. A Romney aide confirmed Rubio’s attendance. The aide spoke on the condition of anonymity because of what the aide said was the private nature of the event. Christie and Rubio are both campaigning in New Hampshire and planning to march in Wolfeboro’s Fourth of July parade. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor who missed out on the nomination in 2008, had considered another run for president in 2016. But he announced in January that he had decided against it. His endorsement is now coveted. |
