The United States military said Thursday that a coalition airstrike in Syria had killed a senior Islamic State leader who helped raise money, secure arms and transport fighters for the militant group, also known as ISIS. The man, Tariq bin Tahar al-Awni al-Harzi, was killed on June 16, the Pentagon said. It previously reported that Mr. Harzi’s brother was killed in an American airstrike in Iraq.
