Man's ear bitten off in 'nasty attack' in Preston

A man had part of his ear bitten off in a "vicious and nasty attack" when trying to intervene in a "scuffle", police have said.

The 25-year-old was attacked by a man on Fishergate in Preston at about 04:15 BST on Saturday.

The victim lost a lot of blood at the scene before being taken to Royal Preston Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
